Our Next Meeting
 
The Parent Council will meet again on Monday 19th December at 7.00pm in the Staff room. We would love to see some new faces so please come along – you will be made most welcome.
 
 
 
WHAT IS THE PARENT COUNCIL?

The parent council is a group of parents who support the work of the school, share ideas and represent parents' views. The group comprises of approximately 8-10 parents and 2-3 members of staff , including the Head Teacher. They meet once a month (normally the last Monday) and all meeting are very informal.
 
Hillpark Secondary' s Parent Council has recently been involved in providing parents' views on:
 
  • Information parents require on the Curriculum for Excellence
  • Structure for implementation of Curriculum for Excellence
  • Changes to timings of parent consultation evenings
  • Supported study / Easter revision
  • Raising attainment
  • Homework policy

NOTE: The Parent Council discusses and represents views on general school matters. It does not discuss matters concerning individual pupils.

WHO ARE THE MEMBERS OF THE PARENT COUNCIL?

Members of the Parents council are normally parents or carers of pupils who attend the school. However the council may also include co-opted members from the local community.

HOW CAN I BECOME INVOLVED IN THE WORK OF THE PARENT COUNCIL?

You can become involved in the work of the Parent Council by contacting the school or e-mailing the Parent Council directly.

Alternatively come along to a meeting where you will be warmly welcomed!

 

 

 

Minutes of Parent Council meetings are available to all parents/carers, either through the school office or directly from the Parent Council.
